At Adon Jewellery, we use diamonds as side gems. It’s our belief that even smaller gems need to be of impeccable quality to perfectly match the central gem on a ring. We use natural diamonds with a hardness guarantee of least ten. This means that you can rely on your side gems to retain their brilliance indefinitely.
4 c's of diamonds
Cut refers to the reflective qualities of the diamond, and not its shape (as some people think).
A properly cut diamond should reflect light up through the centre of the stone and provide an amazing sparkle.
Poorly cut diamonds tend to leak light, resulting in less reflection and a duller sparkle.
The brilliance of a diamond is determined by its cut. Expertly-cut diamonds with perfectly aligned facets will reflect light in the best possible manner. To achieve unrivalled brilliance, true manufacturing expertise is required.
The majority of diamonds contain natural blemishes, known as inclusions.
Most of these are invisible to the naked eye
The number of inclusions, their location and size can all affect the clarity grade of a diamond
Diamonds with fewer inclusions are more valuable. All diamonds contain inclusions which are formed during the creation process. Diamonds are naturally created by a combination of tremendous pressure and heat deep within the surface of the earth. However, gemstones with fewer inclusions are deemed to be of higher clarity. The clarity scale ranges from FL (flawless) to I, which signals that a diamond contains significant inclusions.
Carat refers to the weight of the diamond and not its actual size. 1ct is the equivalent to 0.2 grams. Amora gems are typically around 8 percent lighter than natural diamonds, and we provide actual and diamond weights on our certificates.
Colourless diamonds are the rarest and most valuable precious gems.
Diamonds are measured on a colour scale, which ranges from D (colourless) to Z (containing a light-yellow hue.)
The most common diamonds used in jewellery rest between G-H on the colour scale. At Adon, we go one better and work with scale F diamonds. This means our customers can expect colourless side gems as standard.
